• Verb stem without patchim OR ending in ㄹ + -면서 (보면서, 살면서)
• Verb stem with patchim (except ㄹ) + -으면서 (먹으면서, 읽으면서)

Indicates that a single subject performs two actions (or holds two roles) at the exact same time.
